newer version of java error - qStudio

This is due to a java version problem:

I'm trying to register my copy of qstudio. When I enter the license key, I get the error message
You are running a newer version of java >16. On newer java versions you must register using the new key format.

The Problem Details

qStudio is over 10 years old and it's registration uses an encryption method that java vendors are removing in newer versions.

If we switch to a new encryption method, old keys would stop working so we need to transition and for a period support both key types (very annoying for us all).

Longer Term

This error will no longer happen.
